Dick T Paramedic - Captain - EMS Training Officer

Dick has been with Emergency Medical Services - New Bedford since 1993 as a part time EMT and got appointed to full time in 1997. His experience dates back to 1983 when he was a senior at Rockland (MA) High School. He gave up a Varsity Wrestling Season and went to EMT school at Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton, MA. He worked for various private companies throughout his career before landing here. He is a Nationally certified EMT-Paramedic and also holds certification in the state of Rhode Island. Dick is an Instructor/Coordinator for the State of Massachusetts and also has instructor creditionals in American Safety & Health, American Heart Association, and National Safety Council. As of July of 2006, Dick was appointed to the rank of Captain and is currently the Training Officer for the department. He is responsible for continuing education for the areas EMS Professionals and also heads up the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Division.
Dick is married and has three sons, two of which are currently EMT's, working for private services in the area. Outside of work, he enjoys camping, geocaching, NASCAR, and spending time with his family.
